BEWARE OF SEXUAL SOLICITATIONS
Teens are in the age group most likely to receive sexual solicitations online.
Always know who you are chatting with. If you are in an uncomfortable chat, log off and talk about it with an adult.
ESTABLISH A POSTING AGREEMENT
Have an agreement with friends not to post embarrassing or hurtful comments or images of each other.
Maintain a respectful, positive online environment.
CHECK YOUR COMMENTS & IMAGES
Do not post anything inappropriate or illegal, such as threats, nudity, alcohol or drugs.
Many apps or websites make it easy to check, edit or delete past content.
REVIEW ACCOUNT SETTINGS
Continuously ask yourself, "What is on my profile, and who can see it?"
Update and make any changes necessary to keep your profile private.
KNOW YOUR FRIENDS & FOLLOWERS
Be sure you trust the people who can see, share and comment on what you post.
Remember, when a friend or follower shares your content, it may be available to different users.
KEEP AN EYE ON THIRD-PARTY APPS
Logging in to one app using your account information from another app may allow access to your profile information.
This information may be shared with other companies.
DON'T FORGET MOBILE DEVICES
When you use mobile devices to post something or check in, you could also be sharing your location.
This could put you or someone you are with at risk.
YOUR RIGHT TO BE SAFE ONLINE
If anyone cyberbullies you, shares a sexual message or image or asks you to share one, do not send,
and report it to the website or app you are on. Tell your parent or a trusted adult.
