MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and preserve property through the cooperative delivery of comprehensive, high-quality fire and rescue services to the residents and visitors of Broward County.

In support of this mission, we are committed to the following primary goals:

  • To treat all residents and visitors of Broward County with the utmost compassion, care, and respect.
  • To nurture the professional development of all fire rescue staff.
  • To develop cooperative arrangements with municipalities to continually enhance service delivery.
  • To promote innovative management and staff involvement.

With more than 700 professional and highly-trained operations, support and administrative personnel, the Broward Sheriff's Office Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services provides fire suppression, fire protection, emergency medical services and educational programs for most Unincorporated areas of Broward County and to the municipalities of Weston, Pembroke Park, Cooper City, Lauderdale Lakes, Dania Beach, Deerfield Beach, West Park and Hallandale Beach through contract agreements. Additionally, the department serves Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades. Fire Rescue also operates countywide Hazardous Materials, Air Rescue, Everglades Rescue, and Technical Rescue teams.
