The Department of Preparedness and Response ensures the Broward Sheriff's Office is the best equipped and most prepared organization in the country. The department centralizes BSO's Training Division and Special Operations Bureau to ensure that every incident response is unrivaled in speed and efficiency. Additionally, the department is committed to seamlessly integrating our highly specialized assets and personnel, such as our Aviation Unit and K-9 Unit, when responding to any critical incident in Broward County.

An outstanding feature of the Department of Preparedness and Response is the Threat Intervention Tactics Analytics Network (T.I.T.A.N.). This intelligence-led policing unit delivers the agency's first-ever full-time SWAT Team. Its primary mission is to provide high visibility and tactical security in critical locations, including airports and seaports, throughout the county. Additionally, T.I.T.A.N. will be deployed immediately in the event of a mass casualty incident.

T.I.T.A.N. personnel also mentor others throughout BSO. The team reinforces training and helps establish proper procedures and protocols during small-scale incidents, so deputies are better prepared and ready to respond appropriately during more critical incidents.
