The BSO Chaplain oversees 2,000 religious volunteers of various denominations who provide spiritual encouragement and educational services to the inmates within the Broward County Jail. The Office of the Chaplain is responsible for providing a confidential environment for the employees of the Broward Sheriff's Office and their immediate family members. At the request of an employee, births, hospitalizations and deaths are made known to the agency though the use of the Chaplain's Office Notices. The Chaplain's Office offers emotional support during this time in the life of the employee. The Chaplain's Office networks with various religious institutions to meet the multi-denominational needs of its employees.
Notifying an inmate of the death of a family member is arranged through the Chaplain's Office.
The Chaplain's Office hours of operation are:
Monday - Friday: 8am - 4:30pm
Office Number: 954-321-4111
