The Office of the Chief of Staff works closely with the Sheriff and executive staff to establish and carry out the agency's priorities, goals and objectives—ensuring BSO remains a world class provider of public safety services.
In collaboration with a variety of internal and external partners, the Office of the Chief of Staff is responsible for creating a single voice, brand and identity for the agency. Through written and spoken communication, the office establishes consistency, quality and strong clear messages for public and employee consumption.
The Office of the Chief of Staff is also is responsible for all public safety, crime prevention and community outreach initiatives aimed at making Broward County a safer, stronger and more united community.

- Uniting Broward
- Anti-texting and Driving
- Operation Medicine Cabinet (Prescription Drug Prevention)
- Identity Theft (Shred-A-Thon)
- Drowning Prevention
- Gun Violence Prevention
The Office of the Chief of Staff also manages BSO's internal and external websites. The agency's website has been hailed as one of the most comprehensive and advanced sites in public safety.
Recognizing the importance of utilizing social media to connect with the community at large, the Office of the Chief of Staff manages the agency's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to ensure information is being filtered to the public in "real time."
