BSO's Purchasing Bureau is responsible for annually procuring more than $160 million in equipment, supplies and services for BSO. The Purchasing Bureau contains two divisions: the Contract Division and the Purchasing Division.

BSO Purchasing Bureau – Strategic Plan

Contract Division

The Contract Division is responsible for the procurement of complex equipment and services including remodeling, renovation, and construction contracting and for the administration of these contracts that supports BSO operations. The Division's goal is to increase support to operational components and enhance capabilities of managers to purchase and obtain products and tools by acquiring automated technology systems that integrate the flow of information to expedite decision-making.

Purchasing Division

The Purchasing Division is responsible for the procurement of services and products, including maintenance and repair, used by the agency. The Purchasing Division fosters open competition between vendors and service providers, resulting in quality products delivered in a timely manner at competitive prices. The Broward Sheriff's Office encourages all businesses to participate in the purchasing process.
