Digital Evidence Unit

In January 2016, the Broward Sheriff's Office created the Digital Evidence Unit. This new unit is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of the BSO body-worn camera system; management of the digital evidence database; case filing of digital evidence with state prosecutors; creation and dissemination of approved and redacted digital evidence for public records requests and media release. The body-worn camera program is underway with full deployment expected by the end of 2017. There will be approximately 1200 body cameras in our neighborhoods protecting our citizens and deputies.

If any member of our community would like to request a copy of BWC videos, you can email the unit at digitalevidence@sheriff.org or call at 954-831-8740.
