Description of Incident:

The Broward Sheriff's Office was called upon Tuesday night to investigate the accidental electrocution of a man who died while picking mangoes from his backyard tree.

Shortly before 8 p.m. paramedics and BSO deputies responded to 248 NE 40th Court near Pompano Beach in reference to a “fall injury.” Arriving deputies and rescue workers found that Eduardo Sandoval, 55, fell off an aluminum ladder after he touched a 7,000 volt power line with a metal swimming pool pole. Sandoval had been using the pole to get mangoes out of his tree.

Sandoval was transported to North Broward Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
