200 NW 27 Avenue(North of the Public Safety Building)
The Broward Sheriff's Office Bomb Unit will hold their annual fireworks safety demonstration on Monday. This popular demonstration is held each year in the hopes of preventing needless pain and suffering among Independence Day celebrants in Broward County.
Adults must closely supervise youngsters when fireworks are being used. Even sparklers can cause severe burns when mishandled. The Broward Sheriff's Office recommends that residents and visitors attend a professionally staged fireworks display to celebrate the 4th of July holiday. Remember, most fireworks are not legal for home-use in Florida. Generally speaking, any devices that fly or explode are unlawful.
Media Note: As always, this demonstration is being held ONE TIME ONLY. BSO Bomb detectives will be available to discuss fireworks safety. The demo is for news media only and is not open to the general public. So please, no advancer of the event. On the day of the event, media should enter BSO headquarters from NW 27 Avenue and go straight through the security gates. Be prepared to show a photo ID in case you’re asked to do so by the attendant.
