Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Teams arrested 12 people in a one-night prostitution sting in Central Broward early Friday morning.

BSO’s Central Broward CST and Dania CST targeted the corridor along Northwest 27 Ave. (600-900 block) during a successful one-night sting operation called 47 Op. Undercover detectives solicited sex for money from street-level prostitutes. The four-hour operation netted 12 arrests.

47 Op came about because of complaints BSO received from residents regarding prostitutes in their neighborhood. Open communication between law enforcement and the community is crucial to ensure that the needs of the residents of Broward County are met as they relate to public safety. If you witness anything suspicious or illegal, contact Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
