Description of Incident:
One man is dead and two other men are being held for questioning following a shooting that occurred in Lauderhill Tuesday morning.
Shortly after 10 a.m., the victim’s sister, Tanya Buckner, called 911 after getting into a verbal altercation with the two male suspects regarding a previous business deal. Not wanting to be confronted by police, the suspects left Buckner’s Sunrise apartment, located at 2041 NW 64 Avenue. Buckner said her brother, Ezra Buckner, followed the suspects in order to copy their license plate.
Buckner followed the suspects to the 1300 block of NW 56 Avenue in Lauderhill, where he rammed their car. Angered by Buckner’s action, one of the suspects reached through the driver’s side window and started punching Buckner. When he tried to escape, the second suspect struck him too. As Buckner ran from the scene, he was shot multiple times. Buckner was transported to Broward General Medical Center where he later died.
At the request of Lauderhill PD, the Broward Sheriff's Office homicide unit was called in to investigate the death. BSO homicide detectives are questioning the two suspects who were taken into custody shortly after the incident. Charges are pending.
