Sheriff Scott Israel and the men and women of the Broward Sheriff’s Office pay tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office invites the public to join us as we remember the victims, their families and the heroes who stood up during the dark times of the 9/11 attack. BSO’s Patriot Day Ceremony will take place at the Urban League of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale on September 11, 2013. This event is free and open to the public.

The keynote speaker will be Colonel Morris J. Hatcher of the United States Army Southern Command. Colonel Hatcher is a native Floridian with a long and diverse military career. He is currently the Headquarters Commandant for the United States Southern Command in Miami.

The BSO Honor Guard will present colors, and there will be musical tributes performed by Colonel Gary Palmer, Linda Knowles and The New Young Patriots. Additionally, a bell will toll commemorating the tragic events from the September 11 attacks.
