BSO PROMOTES GUNFIRE FRIDAY

Friday, February 17th 8 am – 1 pm
Markham Park Target Range
16001 W. State Road 84, Sunrise

Broward Sheriffs Office personnel will team up with celebrities, pro athletes, world class marksmen and police SWAT team members to compete in a first-time-ever trap shooting tournament at Markham Park. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches.

The Florida Sheriff’s Association opened the first Boys Ranch in 1957 as a home for troubled boys. The ranches have grown and expanded to serve boys and girls, steering them from juvenile crime and delinquency and guiding them to lead productive lives as law abiding citizens. To date, more than 100,000 youths have benefited.

The shotgun competition gets underway at 8 am Friday at the park’s outdoor target range. Participants are paying a fee to participate in the trap shooting contest, which will be followed by a reception and lunch, plus a presentation of trophies and prizes.
