APPARENT DROWNING IN POMPANO BEACH

Description of Incident:
A 45-year old Pompano Beach man apparently drowned in a swimming pool Easter Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 2:45 pm, the Broward Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a call of a possible drowning in the pool at an apartment complex at 701 Pine Drive in Pompano Beach. When deputies arrived moments later, paramedics were there, working to save David Sarandrea who lived in the complex.
Mr. Sarandrea was transported to Imperial Point Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale where he was pronounced dead at approximately 3:45 pm.
He had reportedly been in the swimming pool with his girlfriend’s two children at the time of the incident.
BSO investigators say Mr. Sarandrea’s death does not appear suspicious.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation of this case.
The Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
