THIEF ARMS HIMSELF DURING HOME INVASION

PIO 13-3-31

The break-in wasn’t impressive, but detectives want to catch the thief who stole two firearms from a Pompano Beach residence.

Just after midnight on February 25, the suspect broke into the home at 3160 N.W. 1 Ave. by smashing out the bathroom window in the rear of the home.  Grainy video from the home’s surveillance camera shows one suspect walking through the home. He ransacked the property and fled with a flat screen TV, silver coins and two firearms.  The male suspect is seen wearing a short-sleeve polo shirt with a dark-color T-shirt underneath, pants, a cap and gloves. His face is partially covered.

Anyone with information about this burglary or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact BSO Detective Scott Schaefer at 954-786-4371 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.

Sheriff Israel reminds residents to store their firearms safely under lock and key.  Anyone who has a firearm they would like to safely discard can take advantage of our upcoming gun buyback April 6.  Click the link below for more details. http://www.sheriff.bso/posts/post.cfm?id=3c129778-01fb-7957-d44d-ea04702c2f34
