- PIO Number: 02-6-13
- Date: May 30, 2002

- Michael Holmes, 31, 7/24/70, 2691 NW 6th Court, Pompano Beach
Description of Incident:
Homicide detectives from the Broward Sheriff's Office want to talk to a 41-year old woman about the murder last month of a Pompano Beach man.
Investigators say they think Betty Scott, also known on the streets as “Pat”, may be able to shed some light on the killing of 31-year old Michael Holmes.
Early in the morning of Thursday, May 30, 2002 BSO received a call about a car that had hit a tree near 2840 NW 11th Place in unincorporated Ft. Lauderdale. Behind the wheel of the car was Holmes, dead from a specific wound highly inconsistent with a car crash. The subsequent autopsy of Mr. Holmes confirmed that he had been murdered.
BSO detectives say Scott may be able to answer some questions about the murder of Holmes. They say the woman’s appearance can change dramatically as her weight fluctuates between 100 and 163 pounds. She is approximately 5-feet tall and may be with her boyfriend, “Tom”, who drives a red pick-up truck. She is known to frequent the 2900 block of NW 12th Street in unincorporated Ft. Lauderdale, the Roosevelt Gardens area.
Investigators are eager to speak with Betty Scott about the night Mr. Holmes was killed but are not calling the woman a suspect.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Betty Scott, a.k.a. “Pat”, should call the BSO Homicide Unit at (954) 321-4210.
