Button Down Bandit Robs Auto Parts Store

Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives have released a surveillance video shot Friday, April 6 at a Napa Auto Parts store at 1200 W. Copans Road in Pompano Beach. Just before 1:30 p.m., the store’s security cameras captured a man in a cap, a long-sleeved, button down shirt and pants walk into the store. He picked up an item from a rack and approached the cashier. When the employee opened the register, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money. A second employee confronted the robber but took cover when he realized he was armed. The criminal then dropped some of the stolen cash, bent to pick it up and ran out the door. Before he went, he pointed the gun at the cashier one last time. Witnesses saw him get into a newer, black Honda Accord that did not have tinted windows. The car had a Florida tag that started with the letter W.  Anyone with information is asked to call BSO Det. Steven Hoover at 954-321-4270 or report information anonymously at (954)493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
