Description of Incident:

The Broward Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit has apprehended one of the suspects responsible for robbing and shooting four people last week in Lauderdale Lakes.

The 18-year-old suspect, Norman Breyon Brown, has been charged with four counts each of Attempted Murder and Armed Robbery with a Firearm. Brown and an accomplice approached several men standing outside a four-unit apartment building in Lauderdale Lakes the night of November 19th, armed with handguns. Brown shouted, “…Give it up!” then opened fire, wounding the foursome. After the shooting, the suspect took jewelry and cash from the victims and fled on foot.

After identifying Brown and obtaining an arrest warrant for him, Robbery Unit detectives launched a manhunt early today. Upon learning that he was wanted, Brown surrendered peacefully at the BSO District 5 substation at 11 a.m. He is now being held without bond in BSO’s jail.

The second gunman is still being sought. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is urged to call the Broward Sheriff’s Office at 954-765-4321. A cash reward is available for anonymous tips phoned to CrimeStoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
