Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested 19-year-old Chestlie Saintmelus, and 20-year-old Trenard Young for a series of robberies including the April 12 armed robbery at the 7-Eleven at 12 N. Federal Highway in Pompano Beach.

Just before 4 p.m., Saintmelus entered the store began to grab snacks off the shelves. A second man, later identified as Young, pointed a gun at the clerk almost as soon as he entered the store. Young threw a black bag at the clerk and then made his way to the back of the counter. Once there, he moved the employee to the register and demanded him to put the money in the bag all the while holding the gun against the clerk’s body. As Young made his escape he forced the clerk to the ground.

Young wore a black hoodie with a red Spiderman logo on the back and a Spiderman image on the front. He also wore dark pants, dark shoes and dark gloves. Saintmelus wore a dark hoodie, dark pants and athletic shoes.

This is Young’s fourth arrest since May 2016. He is now facing 14 charges including six counts of robbery with a weapon and six counts of wearing a mask while committing a crime.

Saintmelus has three prior arrests in Broward County since June 2011. He is facing 12 charges including six counts of robbery with a weapon.
