Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for an armed robber who targeted an Oakland Park gas station and got away with all the money in the cash registers. The store's surveillance cameras captured the crime.

At 11:15 p.m. on June 26, the store clerk at the Marathon Gas Station at 4990 N. Dixie Hwy. in Oakland Park had an awful surprise when she came upon an armed masked robber. The man told her not to be a hero and then said, “Do you want to go home to your family tonight?” They then walked back behind the counter where the robber demanded all the money from both registers. The man fled the store on foot in a southbound direction.

Detectives are searching for a black male, about 5’2” tall and weighing approximately 180 lbs. He wore a black jacket with “Kent Security” printed on the back, white gloves and a black mask. The robber used a black handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Detective Mohammad Razi at 954-321-4547 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
