BSO Celebrates LGBT Pride Month

Equality for all Americans

This month, we recognize and celebrate the amazing impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals have had on our community.  The cause of equality has come a long way. A police raid 45 years ago this month took place at the Stonewall Inn in New York City.  That raid – in which patrons fought for their right to live openly and with dignity as gay persons – sparked the modern gay rights movement.  Our community has fortunately moved  beyond  mere “tolerance.”  We now openly embrace the multicultural diversity of our community which makes us a better, stronger and more united Broward.
