Description of Incident:

An armed robber gets caught on surveillance video robbing the same Metro PCS twice. Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for the unidentified thief who is targeting the Pompano Beach cell phone store.

Just before noon on Christmas day the sales manager, Yesenia Pupiro, 26, was working when she noticed a black man dressed all in black enter the store. At first the man appeared to be shopping but suddenly things changed when the man ran up to her holding a handgun, grabbed Pupiro’s cell phone and demanded cash. The manager handed over the cash in the register and as he walked out, the thief told Pupiro to “call the cops.”

At 5:53 p.m. on Feb 13, the armed robber returned to the Pompano Beach Metro PCS. Jimmy Rene, 28, was helping two costumers when the robber, this time wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, entered the store. The man charged the counter quickly and pointed a small silver handgun at Rene’s head. Once again, the unidentified man wanted the cash in the register and once Rene handed him the money, the man fled the store.
