Description of Incident:

Investigators from the Broward Sheriff's Office are following up on numerous tips about a blue Porsche convertible following a fatal crash in Pompano Beach earlier this week.

At about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2002, Billy Buck was on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, stopped for the light at the intersection with McNab Road. To his right in the northbound lanes, was a Porsche 944 or 968 Cabriolet painted “Baltic Blue”.

Both vehicles accelerated when the light turned green. For an unknown reason, it appears the Porsche made contact with the Harley. Mr. Buck went down with his motorcycle, sliding nearly 350 feet. According to a witness, the driver of the Porsche stopped a short distance away from the crash, got out of his car, inspected the vehicle, then got back in and took off northbound on Federal Highway.

The 55-year old Buck of 2401 SE 7th Drive in Pompano Beach, died a short time later at North
Broward Medical Center.

BSO investigators want to interview the Porsche driver, but say he is not yet a suspect; it is possible that he was not at fault in the crash. He is described as olive-skinned, between 20 and 30 years old. The car he was driving is described as a blue Porsche 944 or 968 with a blue fabric convertible top and likely damage to the left side of the vehicle.
