Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Homicide investigators have arrested a Pembroke Park man and charged him with the murder of his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter.
Just after 6:00pm on July 9th, BSO deputies were called to Parkway Regional Hospital in North Miami Beach after receiving reports of a possible child abuse that North Miami Beach Police believed had occurred in Broward County. According to NMBPD, the young victim, 3-year-old Tamia Fullmore, was brought to the hospital by Glenn Davis, claiming to be her stepfather. Davis told doctors that Tamia had developed a fever so he gave her some Motrin. He said she then became groggy and disoriented, which is why he brought her to the ER.
Tamia was examined by a doctor who noticed that she had a cut lip, dilated pupils, scratches on her face, and possible head trauma. She went into cardiac arrest at the hospital and was placed on a respirator. At 8:13pm she was transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital, in critical condition. She was examined by a pediatric surgeon who determined that her brain had begun to swell. He also noted that she had a long list of possible injuries. On July 10th at 2:30am she was declared brain dead.
On July 12th, the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that Tamia had suffered several blunt injuries including a fractured skull, multiple contusions to the brain, and a perforated colon. The Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause of death was multiple head trauma and the manner was homicide.
Once the autopsy was completed, detectives spoke again with Davis. He told them that he tossed the 3-year-old against a living room wall during horseplay. He said he tossed her again in the bedroom, where she hit her head on a dresser, which made her disoriented. Davis the injuries were the result of roughhousing. Detectives determined that his actions constituted Aggravated Child Abuse. Since her death occurred during the commission of a felony, Davis is also charged with Felony Murder.
