Description of Incident:

An armed robbery turned into a real pain at a 7-Eleven when the criminal fell flat on his back as he tried to jump the store’s counter. Broward Sheriff’s Office criminal investigations detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying this tumbling thug.

At 1:06 a.m. on January 8, an armed robber confronted two store clerks when he entered the store and began to yell, “I’m going to kill you.” The clerks saw what looked like a handgun in the suspect’s waistband and quickly ran into a back room and locked themselves in. The robber jumped over the counter and promptly fell to the floor. Once he regained his footing, he reached into the register and took the cash drawer.

BSO detectives are looking for a black middle-aged male, about 6’ tall, weighing approximately 250 lbs. with a thick salt-and-pepper beard. He was wearing a mostly black jacket with grey sleeves, dark blue jeans, a black hat and black shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Detective Roger Peterson at 954-786-4242 or report anonymous tips to Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or to www.browardcrimestoppers.org online. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
