Description of Incident:

State Road A1A will remain closed to all traffic overnight in the 1400 block of South Ocean Boulevard in Pompano Beach.

The road is closed because BSO detectives are excavating bones discovered by a Weekley Asphalt crew laying conduit in the area.

It is still unknown as to whether the bones are human, and whether they are ancient or were buried in recent years.

A1A will be closed to all through traffic, open to local traffic only, in the area and will be totally impassable in the 1400 block. The dig site where the road is totally closed is about one mile north of Commercial Boulevard and about a mile south of Atlantic.
