DETECTIVES RELEASE SKETCH OF RESIDENTIAL ROBBER

13-2-2

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing the sketch of one of the robbers who assaulted an elderly man in his Dania Beach home Jan. 31.

The victim arrived at his home at 801 E. Dania Beach Blvd. around 7 p.m.  Soon after, he heard a knock on the sliding glass door.  The victim opened the door and saw two young, white men, wearing all black.  One was covering his face with a brown napkin.  The other had a jacket over his face.  One of the suspects said he needed help and then the two forced their way inside the man’s home, pushed him to the floor and ransacked the bedroom.  They demanded money from the homeowner.  The victim gave the robbers the cash he had, and the pair fled on foot.

BSO deputies searched the area with K-9 and the BSO helicopter, but the suspects were not located.

The victim got a look at one of the suspects and helped detectives create a composite sketch.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect in the sketch or has information regarding this robbery is asked to contact BSO Robbery Detective Mark Copley at 954-321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477).

***MEDIA NOTE:  The composite sketch is attached to this news release on our website www.sheriff.org.  The victim is afraid of retaliation and asks media not to release his name or address and is not interested being interviewed.
