AUTO THEFT PREVENTION EVENT IN TAMARAC

Saturday, February 1, 2003

9:30am to 12:30pm

7525 NW 88 Avenue

Tamarac City Hall

FREE CLUBS. The Broward Sheriff’s Office will be offering free Club steering wheel locking devices to those residing in Tamarac and owning cars listed on the top 10 most stolen list. Simply bring your vehicle and registration papers.

FREE VIN ETCHING. BSO deputies will be etching vehicle identification numbers into the corner of car and truck windshields for free. This helps discourage auto theft and aids law enforcement in the apprehension of auto thieves.

FREE CAT REGISTRATION. Citizens interested in the Combat Auto Theft (CAT) program can also register for free. A CAT decal authorizes law enforcement to stop your vehicle and treat it as a stolen car if it is seen on the road between 1:00am and 5:00am. The sticker is an effective deterrent to nighttime auto theft.
