Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office robbery detectives are releasing surveillance video in the hopes of identifying two bold suspects who robbed a convenience store in Carver Ranches using some very intimidating firepower.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on December 16, 2001, the suspects, one of whom was armed with an assault weapon, entered the Stop and Save, located at 4529 West Hallandale Beach Boulevard near Hollywood. The taller suspect stood by the door and pointed what appears to be a machine gun over the counter at the clerk. The other suspect, armed with a small revolver, jumped over the counter and lifted an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The second suspect also stole the clerk’s personal cash before jumping back across the counter.

Both unidentified males fled the convenience store, possibly to a get-away car parked on the west side of the business. One witness, who was outside at the time, said the suspects might have fled in a dark colored Chevrolet.

The first suspect is believed to be a black male about six feet tall, approximately 200 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, and a medium build. The second male, of undetermined race, is about five feet eight inches tall, approximately 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, and a medium build. Both suspects wore dark clothes and masks.

Anyone with information on the identity and/or whereabouts of these two suspects is encouraged to call BSO Robbery Det. Joe Ventura at (954) 321-4270 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS.
