Description of Incident:

A Plantation man died Sunday night when he was ejected from the vehicle he was driving during a rollover crash in Fort Lauderdale.

Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives said at approximately 11:30 p.m. Fabian Johnson, 32, of Plantation, was driving a 2011 Kia Soul northbound on Federal Highway when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road to the left. The Kia Soul continued traveling sideways into the grassy median that separates the north and southbound lanes of Federal Highway causing the vehicle to roll repeatedly. That’s when Johnson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the Kia. The Kia came to final rest in the southbound lanes of Federal Highway with Johnson pinned beneath.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported his three passengers to Broward Health Medical Center. They suffered non-life threatening injuries.

BSO investigators said Lindsay Ramrattan, 24, of Lauderhill, was headed south on Federal Highway when the 2002 BMW convertible she was driving was struck by debris from the Kia. Neither Ramrattan nor her three passengers were injured.
