Description of Incident:
The Broward Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit is releasing surveillance video in the hopes of identifying two suspects who committed an armed robbery at a hotel in Tamarac early Thursday morning.
Shortly after 4 a.m. the two unidentified suspects are seen approaching the unattended check-in counter of the Baymont Inn & Suites, located at 3800 West Commercial Boulevard. After suspiciously looking around, one of the suspects jumps over the counter and immediately turns the surveillance camera to obstruct the view.
The suspects then ambush the hotel manager, who was unaware of their presence. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the manager and demanded money. After the manager complied, the suspect demanded money from the safe; however, the victim didn’t have the combination. One of the robbers then struck the employee on the head with his gun, possibly a silver colored revolver.
The suspects tied up the victim with a telephone cord and fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash. Both suspects are described as black males in their early to mid-20’s with medium builds and medium height. The hotel manager was treated and released at Florida Medical Center.
Anyone who can provide a more detailed description, or identity or whereabouts of the suspects is urged to call BSO Robbery Det. Mike Ruback at (954) 321-4270, or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS.
