Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman in a red, hooded sweatshirt who robbed an employee at a Tamarac Walgreens Thursday morning.

Surveillance cameras captured the heavy-set, middle-aged woman wearing shorts, sneakers and a large sweatshirt walking into the store around 6:44 a.m. She headed over to the cashier, pointed a handgun at him, handed him a bag and demanded money from the register. The crime did not take long, and she appeared calm throughout.

Surveillance video also shows her backing an older, white SUV, perhaps a Dodge Durango or Jeep Cherokee, into a parking spot outside. The vehicle has a roof rack, sun roof and the passenger-side brake light is out.

Anyone with information about this crime can call BSO Robbery Detective Roger Peterson at (954) 321-4270 or report tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
