Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help with identifying two suspects captured on surveillance video stuffing items from a Pompano Beach convenience store into their pants and purse.

The theft occurred about 9:30 a.m. September 13 at the Shell gas station at 3101 W. Atlantic Blvd. The clerk told BSO detectives he was assisting other customers when he heard a noise and noticed a man behind the counter. The clerk said he told the customer that the area was for employees only. After the suspicious individual left the store, the clerk realized some electronic cigarettes were missing.

At that point, the clerk and his manager reviewed the surveillance video and saw the unidentified man stuffing several food items into his pants, while a second suspect, a female wearing a short dress, was stuffing items in her purse. Then the woman purchased a few small items in order to distract the cashier while her partner in crime swiped the e-cigarettes.

The suspects left in a black Nissan Altima with no tinted windows and with a Florida tag number of 1-4-7-K-L-D.

Anyone with information on this case or the whereabouts of the get-away car is asked to call BSO Pompano Beach Det. James Pedre at (954) 786-4242 or contact Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
