Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office robbery detectives are hoping the public can help them identify and locate a suspect who robbed a bank in Tamarac Thursday morning. No injuries were reported.

The unidentified male suspect entered the Bank United, located at 5779 North University Drive, shortly after 9 a.m. After pulling a nylon stocking down over his face, the gunman approached one of the tellers and demanded cash. The suspect approached two other tellers before fleeing the bank with an undisclosed amount of money in a plastic bag.

BSO detectives believe the suspect fled on foot, southbound through the parking lot, in the direction of Commercial Boulevard. A perimeter was set up and a search of the area was conducted, but no suspect was found.

The unidentified black male is believed to be in his late 20’s, about five feet 11 inches tall, and approximately 180 pounds. When he fled the bank, he was wearing a white short-sleeved polo shirt and light colored pants and carrying a black gun.
