BSO Case Number: LL02-11-1675

Victim(s): four males, 17 to 24 years of age

Suspect(s): two to three unknown black males

Description of Incident:

The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting of a juvenile and three other young men that apparently stemmed from a robbery outside a four-unit apartment in Lauderdale Lakes.

The violent incident occurred outside the quadraplex apartment at 4031 NW 30 Terrace, which is believed home to two of the victims. At 8:35 pm, BSO District IV deputies were dispatched to a report of “shots fired” at that address. Arriving deputies found four young men suffering from gunshots wounds in the central entryway to the apartments. The four were rushed to Broward General Medical Center for treatment. The youngest, a 17-year-old boy, was most seriously wounded.

According to preliminary information gathered by BSO Robbery detectives, two or three men armed with handguns approached the four victims, who were standing in the entryway, and shouted, “…Give it up!” The suspects then opened fire, wounding the foursome. After the shooting, at least one suspect took jewelry and cash from the victims and fled on foot. It is believed that a getaway car was waiting nearby but no reliable vehicle description is currently available.

The shooters are unknown and are described only as black males. The names of the victims will be released after their identities are confirmed and their families are notified.

Robbery detectives have some leads but no solid suspect information at this time. Anyone with any information is urged to call the Broward Sheriff’s Office at 954-765-4321 or CrimeStoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS.
