Description of Incident:

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man, gunned down outside his Pompano Beach home Friday night.

The killing occurred at about 8:26 pm at the home of the victim, Nestor Alvarez. Alvarez, a Mexican national, shared the duplex apartment at 500 SW 2nd Court with another man. According to witnesses, Alvarez and his roommate were outside their home when two men approached. Words were exchanged and the men attacked Alvarez and his roommate. One of the suspects pulled a handgun and fired several shots, striking and killing Alvarez.
