INTRODUCING NEW BSO PIO

PIO Number: 13-6-16

Following an extensive internal search, Gina Carter has been selected to fill the vacant public information officer position in the Broward Sheriff’s Public information Office.
 

Gina has been with BSO since Feb. 25, 2002. During her 11 years with the agency, she has worked as a child protective investigator and youth services counselor. Before transferring to PIO, Gina served as a youth services supervisor at the Juvenile Assessment Center where she supervised 12 youth counselors who provided direct service to juveniles and adults.
 

Gina shows initiative and creativity. She conceptualized the JAC’s marketing strategy and materials – including multi-media presentations, brochures, fact-sheets, reports and newsletters – to increase public awareness. Her information technology skills, professional photography, videography and digital video editing talents are sure to be an asset to our unit.
 

Gina demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. She reads, writes, translates and speaks Spanish fluently. She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree and masters of fine arts and technology degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
