MEDIA PLAN AND LOGISTICS FOR RIVERA FUNERAL

Date: September 26, 2013                        PIO Number: 13-9-37

The procession is scheduled to depart at 10:15 a.m. September 27, 2013 from Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 200 W. Copans Road in Pompano Beach.

Just prior to the 10:15 a.m. departure, additional procession units will leave Pompano Citi Centre at Copans Road and Federal Highway and merge in with the procession leaving the funeral home.

The procession will head west on Copans Road to Interstate 95, south on I-95 to Cypress Creek Road exit, then west to Calvary Chapel at 2401 W. Cypress Creek Rd. in Fort Lauderdale.

The reserved area for live-truck parking will be outside the northwest corner of the sanctuary. Please have your live trucks in place by 9:45 a.m. Media check-in will be at the mobile Joint Information Center (JIC), located at the live-truck parking area. All media will be escorted by PIOs to facilitate any needs as they arise.

There will be no pool video feed. Calvary’s broadcast facility is being updated and rebuilt, and therefore the production unit will not be able to provide external video of the procession’s arrival. The church’s production team will stream live video on their website utilizing two or three cameras inside the sanctuary. The feed is high quality, standard def. and has DVR functionality in case you miss any portion of the service. It has a bit rate of 8mbs 4x3. You may experience about a 30-second delay. Call the BSO Public Information Office at (954) 831-8300 for the URL address.

News crews entering the sanctuary are asked to dress appropriately. PIOs will escort reporters, photographers and videographers to the crow’s nest in the mezzanine level. Flash photography is not allowed.

Following the ceremony, the procession will head west on Cypress Creek Road to Northwest 31 Avenue, south on 31 Avenue to Prospect Road, west on Prospect to State Road 7, then north to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery at 1400 S. State Road 7 in North Lauderdale where the 21-gun salute, taps, a flyover and end-of-watch radio (10-7) call will take place.
