BSO TAKES PRECAUTIONS AS THE JEWISH HIGH HOLY DAYS BEGIN
As a precaution, Broward Sheriff’s deputies have increased patrols near synagogues in BSO jurisdictions, as Jews prepare for the High Holy days. The observance begins with Rosh Hashanah, Monday at sundown. Yom Kippur begins at sundown Wednesday, September 26th and ends at sundown the following day.
Broward County Sheriff Ken Jenne sent a letter to rabbis and Jewish leaders today (Sunday) offering assistance. He urged them to call BSO if they or a member of their congregations notice anything suspicious.
“Our hearts and prayers are with those of you who have lost friends and loved ones in this tragedy. Your safety and freedom to worship is a top priority,” he said.
