Description of Incident:

The Broward Sheriff’s Office has launched a massive search for a Pompano Beach teenager who was abducted by a family acquaintance this morning as she waited for her school bus.

The incident took place at approximately 8 a.m. at the 2300 block of NW 4th Street in Pompano Beach. The victim was waiting for her school bus when the suspect, Jubencio Maldonado, approached in his burgundy 1995 or 98 Ford Ranger. Moments later, the pair was seen involved in a violent struggle.

The victim’s six year-old sister claims to have witnessed the entire ordeal as she rode pass the pair while on her way to school in a family friend’s car. The child claims her sister struggled with Maldonado before he violently grabbed her by the hair and forced her into his vehicle. The victim never made it to school today. Both she and Maldonado have not been seen since.

The suspect, who police believe is headed to Orlando where he resides, his driving a burgundy 1995 or 98 Ford Ranger. The vehicle’s front windshield displays the word “MONTES” in bold white lettering. The vehicle’s rear windshield is adorned with a scene depicting clouds and a wolf.

BSO investigator activated the Amber Alert System at approximately 5:30 p.m.

VICTIM DESCRIPTION: W/H/F, 14 years old, 5’0” feet tall, weighs 95 pounds, thin build, brown shoulder length hair and brown eye.
