WOMAN’S PURSE STOLEN ON THE JOB Detectives Release Surveillance Video of Possible Suspect

Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man, seen on a grocery store surveillance tape, who may be responsible for stealing a Davie woman’s purse from her job in Weston.

The incident occurred August 12th at Practice Mechanics, located at 1455 North Park Drive. Johanna Ferro, who works in the sales department, told detectives someone stole her Nautica purse from on top of a file cabinet next to her desk. Ferro said she was in meetings most of the day and didn’t notice her black nylon bag, with all its contents, was missing until about 4 p.m.

After checking with several co-workers, Ferro reported the theft to BSO. Detectives believe the suspect may have been captured on surveillance video at a nearby grocery store after the theft. The unidentified white male is seen leaving the Publix (1170 Weston Road) checkout lane after purchasing a cart of groceries with Ferro’s credit card about 10:35 a.m., the same day of the incident.
