CREDIT-STEALING CRIMINAL GETS CAUGHT ON TAPE

Description of Incident:

An unassuming shopper turned out to be a thief who used one victim’s identity to get almost a dozen credit cards. Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying the thief who was caught on security footage using the fake cards.

On May 15, Warren Stoeber received an unexpected a bill for a new Sears credit card in the mail. As more bills came in, he realized someone had used his identity to obtain at least 11 fraudulent credit cards. The thief used the cards to make purchases in several stores days before the victim even knew what had happened. Surveillance video from TigerDirect showed the suspect as he purchased a computer. The thief was also captured by security cameras as he purchased 20 gift cards at Kohl’s with the fraudulent credit cards.

BSO Oakland Park detectives are looking for a Hispanic male, in his sixties, balding with a medium build. Anyone with information may contact BSO Det.
