  • 3 unknown Haitian males -- at large -- armed and dangerous

Description of Incident:

Store cameras captured three armed bandits, including one pointing a gun under his shirt and another with a Haitian flag on his head, as they went on a Fourth-of-July armed robbery spree.

BSO Robbery detectives hope the photos and store video will lead to the arrest of the suspects before a store clerk or unfortunate customer is hurt or killed. The three suspects are all presumed to be Haitian because they speak to each other in Creole. In addition, one of them wears a Haitian flag as a bandana encircling his head. Each of them was armed with a handgun. One of them would typically hold a pistol under his shirt, pointing it at the store clerk during the hold-up.

On July 4th, the trio robbed the Dunkin Donuts at 1070 W. Commercial Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale, the 7-Eleven store at 5890 N. Andrews Ave. near Fort Lauderdale and the Food Spot store at 1040 W. Prospect Road in Oakland Park. The day before (7/3/01) the same robbers struck two 7-Eleven at 2920 E. Sunrise Blvd. and 330 N. Federal Highway, both in Fort Lauderdale. They are also believed responsible for a similar robbery in Miramar.

The suspects may be riding in a late model, black four-door Lincoln Continental. They should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is urged to call the Broward Sheriff's Office at (954) 765-4321 or CrimeStoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS.
