CYCLIST KILLED IN COLLISION WITH CAR

Description of Incident:

An 82-year-old Tamarac man riding his bicycle was killed just before 8:30 a.m. Monday when he collided with a van on McNab Road.

Tamarac Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue responded to the scene, and BSFR airlifted Oscar Aleman to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Broward Sheriff's Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating the crash. They say Oscar Aleman was riding his bicycle southbound across McNab Road when he was hit by a 2004 Chevrolet Express driven by Serge Gharakhanian, 45, of Coral Springs. Gharakhanian had been eastbound on McNab Road.
