Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are still looking for the driver who hit a 59-year-old woman in Deerfield Beach Saturday, then stopped briefly at the scene before getting back into his car and driving away. Sandra Limburg, who had been walking near her Deerfield Beach home, was gravely injured. She died Monday North Broward Medical Center.

Witnesses described the hit-and-run driver as a black man in his 20s with his hair in corn rows. He was about 6-feet tall, wearing jean shorts and no shirt. He was driving a 2000 or 2001 Mazda Millennia. They told investigators he had been driving at a high rate of speed and changing lanes when he struck Limburg. After the impact, he got out of the car and expressed dismay at what had happened. Then he slipped back into his car and drove away.

Limburg had been crossing Northeast 48th Street from north to south. The Mazda was heading eastbound on Northeast 48th Street and hit her in the right thru lane. The vehicle may have damage to the right front end.
