On the fifth anniversary of her death, the family of a 71-year-old murder victim is holding a vigil at the scene of the crime, hoping to generate the lead that detectives need to catch her killer.

The family, including members who traveled to Broward County from Connecticut, has made the vigil an annual observance. Olga Parlante was an elderly widow who lived alone in ground floor apartment 3. On March 13, 1997, Mrs. Parlante was strangled and her home was ransacked. The investigation by the BSO Homicide Unit is ongoing and detectives remain committed to finding the killer and bringing him to justice.
