Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office Aggravated Felonies detectives are investigating two separate attempted abductions of two girls in Deerfield Beach Tuesday afternoon.

The two 10-year-old victims were on their way home from school when an unidentified male tried to lure them from their neigborhoods. The first incident occurred about 2:45 p.m. at 641 NW 38 Avenue. The victim was riding her bicycle, approaching her driveway, when the suspect cut her off with his car. The suspect got out of the car and tried to pull the victim from her bike. The victim broke free and ran for help.

BSO deputies responded and canvassed the area looking for the suspect and his small newer model (unknown make) white or light colored 4-door vehicle. The car has tinted windows and a black stripe or body molding running along the side of the car above the door handle. It’s brand new looking, very clean inside and outside, and has a gray-blue interior with speckles of color in the cloth.

About fifteen minutes later, a few blocks away, near 360 Jefferson Drive, another 10-year-old girl and her male schoolmate were walking home from school when the same suspect approached them. He got out of his car and engaged the two in conversation. Feeling uneasy, the two youngsters climbed over a wall, taking a shortcut home. The suspect followed the two inside the Centergate apartment complex. Once the girl was alone he approached her again, and tried to lure her inside his car by striking up a conversation. The suspect eventually drove off when she refused to go with him.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, thin build in his early 20’s with dark brown spiked hair and wavy on the top. He has acne, a light goatee, green or hazel eyes, about 5’9” to 5’11”. The suspect was last seen wearing a short sleeve dark shirt, knee length shiny silver basketball style shorts, and Oakley-style sport sunglasses positioned on his head not eyes. Anyone with information on this case or the identity of the suspect should call BSO Aggravated Felonies Det. Alexander Coto at (954) 321-4224 or call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
