She was found with a note hidden between her legs. Much like the other notes, it demands that prescription drugs be turned over and alludes to armed enforcers. Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives with the Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response (VIPER) Unit found Joyce Shore this afternoon in a drug store parking lot in Hollywood.
Robbery detectives from BSO and Hollywood Police Department responded to the scene, 501 Sheridan St., where 38-year-old Shore was taken into custody.
She faces one count of attempted robbery for trying to get prescription medicine from a Dania Beach pharmacy on May 31. Shore also faces several other charges for robberies at Hollywood pharmacies.
Around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, she walked into the Walgreens at 202 S. Federal Highway and handed a pharmacist two notes demanding prescription medications. The doctor didn’t comply, even after Shore told him her brothers were outside and armed. She left empty-handed in a dark blue Hyundai Elantra, the same car she was found driving June 2.
Shore was described as having long, dark hair that she wore in a ponytail. It turns out she was wearing hair extensions.
Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Robbery Detective Mark Copley at 954-321-4738. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online
