Description of Incident:

Traffic Homicide Investigation detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office are releasing the name of the driver who was found in a Pompano Beach lake.

THI detectives continue to investigate how Hepburn Williams’ 2009 blue BMW Sports Wagon ended up in a lake near 2921 Center Port Court. The investigation started around 2:20 p.m. June 5, when Regional Communications received a call that a body was floating in the water. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue and BSO road patrol deputies responded. BSO’s crime scene, marine, THI and homicide units also went to the scene.

The agency’s divers and marine deputies recovered Williams’ body and the sports utility vehicle, which was about 25 feet below the water’s surface. THI detectives suspect that the BMW left the roadway at slow speed prior to entering the water.
