Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office Missing Persons detectives are seeking the public’s help in located a missing elderly man who wandered off from a Lauderdale Lakes apartment late Monday.

Louise Thompson reported her husband, Asley Thompson, missing shortly before midnight. Louise told detectives Asley, who is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease, had become lost and disoriented on previous occasions while living in Jamaica. The two recently arrived in south Florida to visit relatives.

Due to Asley’s diminishing mental capacity and the fact that he is unfamiliar with the area, BSO detectives are greatly concerned for his safety.

The eighty-two year-old victim was last seen wearing a black and white long sleeve dress shirt, khaki pants, black dress shoes, and a black baseball type cap with orange writing. He’s about five feet ten inches tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Asley Thompson is urged to call BSO Missing Persons Det. Joe Castelli at (954) 321-4240 or call the Broward Sheriff's Office non-emergency number at (954) 765-4321.
